This year's theme: Homeland Security "Bringing it Home"

On behalf of the Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism, the Florida Division of Emergency Management, and their partners, I want to welcome you to the 2007 Southeast Homeland Security Conference. This four day conference will provide experts and practitioners from government, education and the private sector who will address an array of topics related to Homeland Security.

This year’s theme, “Bringing it Home” is significant for two reasons. First, the conference began in Florida in 2004 and is returning to its inaugural city. Second, while fighting terrorisms worldwide, the risk is still with us “at home”.

Our transportation systems are vulnerable. The American public is exposed to risks from homicidal bombers to diseases and agri-terrorism. Campus violence continues to pose challenges to educational administrators, law enforcement and students. All of these topics and more will be addressed in this year’s conference.

We welcome you. Enjoy, listen and learn.

Richard Moore, Educational Chairperson
2007 Southeast Homeland Security Conference

Who Should Attend… The conference has value for those in the private sector as well as those in government. Past attendees have come from health, medical and hospitals; law enforcement and fire service, emergency medical services, medical examiners, city-county-state emergency management personnel, elected officials, infrastructure, information technology, utilities and military.
